Phase 1: Basic Status Check
- Power Up: It is highly recommended to fully charge the camera before attempting to add it to the app.
- SIM & Mode: Ensure the SIM card is correctly inserted.
- Verify the device's physical switch is set to "4G mode".
- Correct App: Ensure you are using the official NIVIEW app
Phase 2: Hardware Verification via Wi-Fi (Cross-Validation)
If the 4G connection fails, first confirm the camera's hardware is functional by testing Wi-Fi mode:
Switch to Wi-Fi mode and check if the device operates normally.
- Wi-Fi Requirements: The device only supports 2.4 GHz networks; it will not connect to 5 GHz.
- Troubleshooting Wi-Fi: Move the device closer to the router, restart it, and try connecting at least three times.
- Hardware Conclusion: If Wi-Fi still fails after these steps, contact customer service as there may be a hardware defect
Phase 3: Analysis of Indicator Status
The indicator light provides immediate feedback on the connection state:
- Red and Blue flash alternately: The device is waiting for network binding.
- Red flashing: No SIM card detected; check the insertion direction.
- Red flashing intermittently: The device has no data usage or the plan has run out.
- Blue continuously: Connection is successful.
Blue flashing: Connection has been interrupted
Phase 4: Troubleshooting App Binding Failures
- Scanning Tips: When scanning the QR code, adjust the distance of your phone. Only scan when the indicator is flashing red and blue.
- Hard Reset: If the camera does not respond, press and hold the Reset button for 5 seconds, then release it when you hear the prompt sound.
- Firmware Check: Once connected, go to "About Device" and ensure the firmware is version 1.2.11; if not, request a push update from support.
- Free Data Activation: If using the included NIVIEW SIM card, wait 2 minutes after binding for the 7-day free data plan to be issued
Phase 5: SIM Card & Data Plan Issues
- Complimentary Data: If you are offline due to an empty data plan (intermittent red light), share your ICCID number with support to receive a complimentary data plan.
- Third-party SIM Cards: Only 4G SIM cards are supported. Recommended brands include:
- Standard SIM: T-Mobile.
- IoT Cards: AT&T, Freedom POP, Mint, and Verizon
