Certain Dragon Touch models (such as the Modern 15, Modern 16, and Classic 10 Elite) are equipped with a PIR motion sensor. This feature allows the frame to automatically wake up when motion is detected and enter power-saving mode when no movement is present.
If the sensor appears unresponsive or lacks sensitivity, please try the following steps:
1. Verify model compatibility: Not all models support this feature. For instance, the Classic 15 Pro and Modern 10 Charm typically do not include motion sensing capabilities. Please check your settings menu for a "Motion Sensor" option.
2. Adjust the sensor timing settings: The motion sensing function operates based on specific time intervals.
Navigation path: Go to Settings -> System Settings -> Motion Sensor.
Testing tip: Set the duration to 2 minutes. If the sensor is working correctly, the screen should turn off after 2 minutes of inactivity and wake up immediately when you wave your hand in front of it.
3. Eliminate physical obstructions
Clean the sensor: The PIR sensor is located on the front of the frame. Ensure the sensor opening is free from dust, fingerprints, or smudges.
Remove the protective film: If the transparent protective film is still attached, please remove it completely, as the plastic film can significantly attenuate the infrared signal.
4. Optimize environment and placement
Lighting conditions: Avoid placing the frame directly facing intense sunlight or heat sources (such as heaters), as these can interfere with the sensor's infrared heat detection.
Installation height: It is recommended to place the frame at a height of 1–2 meters above the ground. The PIR sensor's effective range is typically within a few meters directly in front of the unit; placing it too high or too low may create detection blind spots.
5. Force restart and resynchronization: If the sensing logic becomes unresponsive, unplug the power cord, wait 10 minutes, and then plug it back in. This can reset the internal hardware sensor.
